On December 12th Amira performed twice in the Christmas show Jólagestir Björgvins 2015, which was recorded for Icelandic TV in Reykjavik.
Jólagestir Björgvins (Björgvins Christmas Guests), hosted by pop singer and TV personality Björgvin Halldórsson, is a show in which Icelands most famous artists participate. Every year a special guest is invited.
This year, Amira was thet special guest and could be seen and heard three times in each of the 2 shows. In a wonderful golden dress, which matched perfectly with the Christmas decor, she sang O Mio Babbino Caro. Amira also performed Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod) in a duet with Icelandic tenor Gissur Páll Gissurarson.
In the end, the 11-year-old singer performed, together with all other artists, an Icelandic adaptation of Christmas (Baby please come home), which was originally sung by Darlene Love in 1963.
Besides her performances in the 2 shows in front of an audience of 3500 per show, Amira also found the time to enjoy her stay in Iceland. Shopping with her mom Frieda, visiting Geysir and the Gulfoss waterfall, and a whale spotting boat trip…
