Amira Willighagen is only nine years old but her extraordinary talent and achievements prove she is not just your average kid.
Fresh from winning 2013’s Holland’s Got Talent (Holland’s version of the talent show America’s Got Talent), Amira was in South Africa for about a week, doing performances and singing at the opening of children’s playgrounds in Ikageng, going to interviews and most importantly, visiting family in Kempton Park and Potchefstroom. This afternoon AmiraFans received some more photographs of the opening of Amira’s first playground in Ikageng, a township near Potchefstroom. The official opening took plact on March 5th, when Amira handed over a cheque and opened the playground for the children of Ikageng.
Potchefstroom – “I am very grateful that I can be here. Nelson Mandela once said that children should be able to play freely. I’ve listened to him and decided to build this playground.”
Those were the words the Dutch singing sensation Amira Willighagen (9) spoke to the excited children of the township Ikageng near the city. Read more

Amira Willighagen, the 9-year-old winner of Holland’s Got Talent, always dreamed of building the children of the Ikageng township in Potchefstroom, South-Africa a playground, but never had the opportunity… until now.
During spring holiday Amira and her family will visit South-Africa. From one side she’ll take a short break from the hard work she’s been doing lately around the CD recording, and on the other had she will -who doubted it- actually perform and persue her other dreams.
