Amira is the winner of the International Giuseppe Sciacca Award 2014, thanks to her extraordinary skills in the area of music and singing. On November 8th 2014, this award will be handed out during a ceremony in de great hall of the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Vatican City.
The Giuseppe Sciacca Award was created in 2001 by the International Association of Culture and Voluntary Work Uomo e Società (men and society) and is named after the young student of architecture, Giuseppe Sciacca, who was -during his short life- noted for his sporting activities and social concern.
The Pontifical Urbaniana University was founded by Pope Urban VIII in 1627, but only received the title ‘Pontifical’ in 1962 from Pope john XXIII.
End of April, begining of May this year Amira and her family traveled to Las Vegas, where she performed in V – The Ultimate Variety Show. This trip and the performance were part of the prize Amira got when winning HGT.

Last week -which ended today with the third and final performance at the Teatro of Montecasino, Johannesburg- for Amira was a week filled with music. Rehearsals, interviews for radio, TV and magazines, and performing for an overwhelmed audience: Amira enjoys it to the fullest!
In Nijmegen (Netherlands) as well as Johannesburg preparations are taking place for a unique event. For the first time in history three Got Talent-winners -among whom Amira- will perform together in a great concert.
A while ago (the end of April, beginning of May to be exact) Amira visited Las Vegas for a performance, and a nice holiday. Both were her prize for winning Holland’s Got Talent. Here are a few exclusive photos of that trip…
Amira’s performance together with André Rieu and his Johann Strauß Orchestra can be called a big success.
Already during Holland’s Got Talent Amira was intivted by André Rieu to follow a Master Class. Short after she was invited to perform this summer together with André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra at the Vrijthof square in Maastricht… And finally it´s going to happen, on friday July 11th and Saturday July 12th. It took some time and effort, but finally we succeeded to obtain the video material of Amira’s very first international performance, during the Starlight Classics Concerts held at the Vergelegen wine estate in Somerset-West, South-Africa. Read more
And once again Amira’s interpretation of O Mio Babbino Caro caused a frenzied crowd and a standing ovation. This happened in Magdeburg (Germay), where she gave a sparkling performance in the saturday-evening TV-show Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel, which was broadcast live by both ZDF in Germany as well as ORF in Austria.
With this fabulous performance, interview and her recent album release in Germany, Amira now is definitely gaining foothold at our eastern neighbours.

Surprise! Only a week before Amira’s planned appearance at Carmen Nebel’s TV show on June 7th, she suddenly appears in a special edition of Die Ultimative Chart Show from RTL Television. Not with an opera song, but with a cover of ABBA’s I Have A Dream. At the eve of her breakthrough in Germany, Amira shows here -being young and very brave- that she dares to experiment!
